$2,060,829.33 settlement for injuries suffered by a truck driver who was caused to fall in an unloading area that was negligently maintained and sustain a torn quadricep muscle, peroneal nerve injury, and aggravation of a preexisting degenerative lumbar condition.
$1,725,000.00 settlement for injuries suffered by a window washer who was caused to fall while working on a scaffold that collapsed while performing his duties at a commercial building, requiring the Plaintiff to undergo a total reconstruction of his lumbar spinal cord.

Case Update: MDR Settles Traumatic Brain Injury Case for $2M
In June 2006, Albert Durkin settled the case of Latasha Rayford as Mother and Next of Friend of LaVonte Rayford, a minor, v. Rebecca Walker Complex, LTD et al. for $2 million, the maximum insurance coverage. In April 2001, Layonte Rayford was a five-year-old resident of the defendant’s building in Chicago. He was caused to fall ten to twelve feet through an opening in a railing system landing on the back left side of his head. Subsequently, Layonte suffered headaches, memory difficulties and eventually, seizures resulting in a diagnosis of complex partial seizure disorder. Additionally, he has learning disabilities as a result of the traumatic brain injury. The $2 million policy will be utilized to purchase a structured settlement for his future life care needs.
