Joseph J. Miroballi has successfully tried to verdict cases in all areas of personal injury law over his 30-year career. His cases against medical institutions in the Chicago area have led to reform in the way medications are dispensed and administered to patients. Mr. Miroballi is a longstanding member of the Illinois Trial Lawyer Association’s Medical Negligence Committee and Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA). Mr. Miroballi is a contributor to the Medical Malpractice Journal and a contributing writer to the Illinois State Bar Journal. He also is a lecturer to the ISBA, as well as the Physician Association and insurance companies.
Albert E. Durkin has more than 30 years of experience as a personal injury litigator. Mr. Durkin has distinguished himself in the area of complex traumatic brain injury and psychological injury resulting from trauma. Mr. Durkin serves on the Illinois State Bar Association’s (ISBA) Judicial Evaluation Committee, General Assembly and is a member of the Tort Section Council. He is also a frequent speaker, and he is consistently published in legal journals including being featured in the Leading Lawyers Magazine—Consumer Edition for 2011.
Scott H. Rudin’s preparatory work has led to many successful verdicts and settlements in his 20 years of practice. Mr. Rudin serves on the Chicago Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee. He is also committed to children’s charities and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for Keshet, the Board of Directors for the Equestrian Connection, and is the Executive Vice- President of the Special Kids Network. Mr. Rudin was named the Dinner Honoree for the February 26, 2012 Keshet Dinner Banquet. In his spare time, he also was one of the assistant coaches to the Deerfield Warriors 13-year-old travel baseball team.
Lauren Levin served as a law clerk at MDR before becoming an Associate in 2007. Since that time, she is responsible for obtaining favorable settlement on behalf of the firm’s clients and has successfully represented clients at arbitration proceedings and trial. Additionally, Ms. Levin litigated an interlocutory appeal decided in favor of her client, in Aylward v. Settecase. Before graduating from law school, she received a Master’s Degree in Bioethics, which she applies to the firm’s medical malpractice litigation.
Jessica Durkin joined MDR as an Associate attorney in 2010. Since joining the firm, Ms. Durkin has authored several briefs for state and federal court, including briefs in a construction negligence case and its corresponding declaratory judgment action. Ms. Durkin currently serves on the ISBA Young Lawyer Division Council as Publicity Chair.
