Attorney Biography:

In July of 2005, Scott H. Rudin teamed up with partners Joseph J. Miroballi and Albert E. Durkin to form MIROBALLI, DURKIN & RUDIN, LLC -- or “MDR-Law,” as it is known in the legal community. Scott takes great pride in and plays a key role on the MDR-Law trial team. His preparatory work in the discovery phase of the firm’s cases facilitates substantial settlements and verdicts. Scott has been practicing over 20 years, and has posted an impressive record of settlements in a variety of personal injury cases. He holds an AV rating from Martindale Hubble Company, confirming his status as a highly respected and ethical member of the bar. He also was nominated by his peers to be honored and distinguished as one of Illinois’s “Leading Lawyers” in personal injury law. In February of 2009, Scott was appointed to serve as a member of the Chicago Bar Association's Judicial Evaluation Committee's Investigative Division.

Scott actively participates in charitable endeavors dedicated to children and young adults with developmental disabilities, including the Board of Trustees for Keshet, the Board of Directors Vice President of Special Kids Network, and the Board of Directors at the Equestrian Connection. From September of 2005 to December of 2006, he served as a member of the Illinois Autism Task Force. Scott has severed as a manager and coach in the house league and travel leagues of the Deerfield Youth Baseball Association, and continues to be active in DYBA. He also was a manager and All Star appointed coach by the league director of the Morton Grove Youth Baseball Association. Mr. Rudin has recently served as a Block Captain for a District 113 Referendum which involves the enhancement of Deerfield and Highland Park High Schools.

Notable Cases and Results:

$3,000,000 for the wrongful death of a man, and the injuries sustained by his surviving wife, in an automobile collision;

$1,914,000 for a premise liability case in which a man who was a truck
driver sustained debilitating back injuries which required surgery and resulted in a drop foot;

$1,500,000 for an auto incident in which a woman who was driving her son
to a travel sporting game sustained shoulder and cervical injuries which required surgery and thereafter had a complication with a blood clot which requires that she be on blood thinners indefinitely.

$1,500,000 for a woman who was caused to suffer an exacerbation of Multiple Sclerosis, and for the spinal injuries suffered by her husband, in an automobile collision;

$1,330,000 for a Plaintiff who was injured when the driver of a semi-tractor trailer collided his truck into the Plaintiff’s automobile, causing serious injuries to the Plaintiff, including requiring the Plaintiff to undergo a cervical fusion;

$500,000 uninsured settlement for the wrongful death of a 79 year-old woman and for a traumatic leg injury suffered by her 49 year-old son in an automobile accident.
